Island Peak (Imja-Tse, alt. 6189 m.) - one of the «trekking» Summits of Nepal, one of the most popular in the area. Climbing this peak is technically simple and available to everyone, who is in a good physical shape. You will learn basic climbing skills during training.

Acclimatization for the summit will take place during one of the most beautiful traks of the world, which will lead us into the heart of Nepal - to the top of Sagarmatha (Everest Mountain). Day by day description

Day 1. Arrive to Kathmandu. Acclimatize in the city of contrasts. We will live in a hotel, restoring energy after the flight. Paperwork for the trek. Introduction with Kathmandu by immersion into the atmosphere of the ancient city. Small shopping streets, where people sell directly to the steps of the ancient temples. We will visit the Hindu Pashupatinath temple complex and the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal - Buddanath. This is where Bertolucci shot the film «Little Buddha». Walking along the Thamel tourist district in the evening, we will buy the missing equipment, get acquainted with the local cuisine.

Day 2. Kathmandu - Lukla (2827) - Monjo (2840). Flight to Lukla about 40-45 minutes. Landing at Lukla - a small adventure that will be remembered for a long time. Get the luggage and go. Today, will be a simple trekking to the Monjo Village (2840).

Day 3. Monjo (2840) - Namche Bazaar (3400). We will have a short but difficult trekking through the valley of the Dudh Kosi River to the capital of the Solo Khumbu Region - Namche Bazar. Crossing the Larya Bridge as exciting moment on the way. Long ascent after the bridge to the Namche.

Day 4. Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. Active acclimatize. We will have to ascent and descend at night in Namche for better adapting to high altitude. Walk to the Khumjung Village, will see the runway of the old airport by the way. The panorama of Himalayan giants around us.

Day 5. Namche Bazaar (3400) - Dole (4110). From Namche we will trek on the to the Khumjung Village, where the long ascent to the Mong Village begins. Stunning views of the Tamserku, Kantega, Cholattsze Peaks by the way.

Day 6. Dole (4110) - Mochherma (4470). This day will be without steep climbs. Trek to the Luz Village (4360) during 3 hours. Views of the Kiazo Rea Peak (6186) on the way. Two more hours and we will get our overnight place, in the Mochherma Village.

Day 7. Mochherma (4470) - Gokio (4790). Amazing view on Ngozumba glacier flowing from the slopes of the top of Cho Oyu Mountain will open on the way to the village Gokio. The trail runs along the cost of two lakes Gokio near the village. The village is located nearby.

Day 8. Ascent to the Gokio Rea Peak (5360) - Dragnag (4700). Today we will make an acclimatization climb to the Gokio Rea Peak. We will see unforgettable view of 4 great mountains at once: Everest (8848), Lhotse (8516), Makalu (8463), Cho Oyu (8201). But the most interesting thing is ahead! Trekking to the Dragnag Village.

Day 9. Dragnag (4700) - Cho La Pass (5368) crossing - Lobuche (4930). We will star a three-hour ascent to Cho La Pass at 5 am. It will take around two hours. Ascent is not difficult, but by steep slopes and snow is possible. Lunch in the Jonglei Village (4830). 3 hours of descent to Lobuche village ahead. The trail runs along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier.

Day 10. Lobuche (4930) - Gorak Shep (5160) - Kala Patar summit (5640) - Lobuche. We will have a simple trek to the Gorak Shep Village after breakfast. Just a few houses on the way to Everest Base Camp. We will climb to the summit of Kala-Patar after lunch - traditional observation point of all the treks leading to the Everest from Nepal. Kala Patar, in fact, just a small top on the ridge of Pumori (7145). Turning around, we will see Everest, Nuptse Peak and Khumbu Icefall. Same day we will return to the Lobuche Village.

Day 11. Lobuche (4930) - Kongma La Pass (5535m) - Chukhung (4730). Trekking to the Chukhung Village through the Kongma La Pass. This village is the last point on the way to the Island Peak Base Camp. Preparations for the summit.

Day 12. Chukhung (4730) - Island Peak Base Camp (5150). Today will be four-hour trek to the Island Peak Base Camp. Preparations for the summit. Dinner and night in tents.

Day 13. Base Camp Island Peak (5150) - Island Peak Summit (6189) - Chukhung (4730). Today we have to reach another of the main targets of the trek - the top of Island Peak (6189). Traditional early morning wake up time. The ascent begins with overcoming a rocky gully. The route along the rocky ridge that leads out to the glacier, hanging from the top. Glacier passed in the bundles. The finish of the route is equipped with fixed ropes. Top! Enjoying Himalayan panoramas, descent to the base camp. The summit takes from 7 to 11 hours.

Day 14. Chukhung (4730) - Tengboche Monastery (3860) - Namche Bazaar (3400). We will locking the ring of our trek by descent down. From the Chukhung Village we will go to the of Tengboche Village through the Pangboche Village, for visiting the Buddhist monastery with the same name, one of the highest monasteries in the world. Overnight near Namche Bazaar in a beautiful place with stunning views of Ama Dablam, Kantega and Tamserku.

Day 15. Staying in Namche Bazaar (3400). Reserve day for bad weather.

Day 16. Namche Bazaar (3400) - Lukla (2827). Going back to Lukla by the same trail. Looking back at the gradually disappearing high mountains.

Day 17. Lukla (2827) - Kathmandu. Back in Kathmandu. We are living in a hotel, lunch. In the evening we will watch the sunset over the Kathmandu from the Svayambudanath hill, which is a large Buddhist stupa. You will need to ascent by 365 steps. In the evening we will continue to get acquainted with the local food and drink with nostalgic memories.

Day 18. Kathmandu. Another day in Kathmandu, it is an extra day for the bad weather. Free time, souvenirs shopping. Don't forget to bargain.

Day 19. Kathmandu - home. Departure from Kathmandu back home.
