Kazbek Mountain like Elbrus Mountain is a two-headed extinct volcano and the most Eastern Caucasian peak higher five thousand meters. This majestic mountain is located on the Russian-Georgian border.
Osetian name Kazbek - Urskhoh - literally means «white mountain». Georgian name - Mkinvartsveri - translated as «the mountain with ice pinnacle». Kazbek has a special magic, beauty and strength. Many legends are connected with this mountain!
We offer you summit Kazbek from the south. Our route begins from the Kazbegi Village. This place has a special charm. It's rich of historical and cultural attractions, allowing you, to diverse your outdoor tour. There is also ski resort here.
Winter summit of Kazbek Mountain it's a tough challenge because of the air temperature, and the complexity of the route. This tour is only for experienced climbers.

Mountaineering experience is mandatory.
Accommodation: hostel in Tbilisi. Active part of the program - 2-3 nights in a tent, then spend the night in a Meteorologist Station. The room is not heated, the temperature can fall below -10° C, so you need warm winter sleeping bag.

Weather conditions: In Kazbegi Village -5.- 20°C, at alt. 3800 m. from -5 till -30°C, at the top till -40°C.

Food (active part): three meals a day (breakfast, dinner, tea, lunch - sandwiches, dried fruit, biscuits, chocolates). Usually in the menu: cereal, soups, mashed potatoes made from natural, cheese, bacon, vegetables, salads, chicken, sausages, sweets, jams, tea, coffee. You can also feed by yourself.

A guide has group Firs Aid Kit. But you should carry your own personal first aid kit with your personal medicine.

Group will registered in the Ministry of Emergency Situations before summit. In case of life danger of the participants, the guide have the right to decide to cancel the summit and to descent the group down. No discussions.

You booking tour by 15% deposit. In case of refusal to travel no later than one month before the start of the tour, no refund, but remains in your «account» to pay for future adventures throughout the year.

Weather on Kazbek Mountain is very capricious winter time. Success of the summit mostly depends of the weather.
Day by day description
Day 1. Meeting of the group Tbilisi Airport.
Accommodation in a hotel or in the hostel. City excursion, local
food testing.
Day 2. Transfer to Kazbegi Village
(Stepantsminda). Night near the Tsninda-Sameba Monastery in the
tents (alt. 2200 m.). Trekking up to the Cabertse Pass by a rocky
ridge. Night in the tents (alt. 3000 m.). If the weather ill be
good stunning landscapes are openings around this place.
Day 3. Ascend to the Meteorologist Station. If
there will be a lot of snow it will be a problem to get there for a
one day. Night in the tents.
Day 4. Ascend to the Meteorologist Station.
Mounaineering skills training: self-arresting technique, moving by
snow and ice, belaying. Night in the Meteorologist Station (alt.
4300 m.).
Day 5. Acclimatize ascent to Kazbeksky Pass. Back
to Meteorologist Station.
Day 6. Summit day. Assault of Kazbek Mountain by
classical route. Descent to Meteorologist Station.
Day 7. Descend to the Kazbegi Village. Transfer
to Tbilisi. Accommodation in the hotel. Walking through the night
Tbilisi.
Day 8. Extra day for bad weather. If the day is
not used - we will visit Mtskheta, go up to the Jvari Temple,
tasting of Georgian wines. A farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 9. Finish of the tour. Farewell. Flight back
home.
